in/PACT and our nonprofit partner, the GoodCoin Foundation, grow the world’s heart by engaging the next generation of philanthropists through the use of technology. We partner with companies and brands to create meaningful experiences for their customers, while funding worthwhile causes across the United States. Through this blog series, we will uncover the hidden impact of kindness and generosity by sharing the real life stories of our nonprofit partners in the field. This week we are honored to share the story of our nonprofit partner, New Eyes For The Needy.

Humble Beginnings

The story starts with a company that was searching for an innovative way to reward and thank guests for choosing to shop with them. Through a partnership with in/PACT and GCF, that brand is able to showcase thousands of local and national nonprofits every year, allowing its members to get directly involved in where the company gives back locally. Our teams find and partner with worthwhile causes that are deeply rooted in the shoppers’ own communities, based on guidelines developed with the company. 

Our due diligence partners dig into each community to research the nonprofits who would be a good fit for the program and align with the company’s key values. The selection of nonprofits is curated in this sense to thank and reward people for shopping with the company while creating meaningful giving opportunities and gathering support and awareness for the nonprofits. 

Amassing Community Support and Awareness

Headquartered in Short Hills, NJ, New Eyes purchases new prescription eyeglasses for children and adults in the United States who cannot afford glasses on their own. The organization also supports communities across the country. Upon discovering the impactful work of New Eyes, in/PACT and the GoodCoin Foundation were ecstatic about the opportunity to support such an invaluable community effort.

During a recent giving campaign sponsored by our retail partner, millions of shoppers connected with New Eyes For The Needy and chose to support its mission. At the end of the 90-day voting period, votes were tallied up and grants were awarded to hundreds of causes based on the percentage of votes they received. We’re proud to announce that New Eyes For The Needy raised $43,000 through the recent giving campaign and its partnership with in/PACT and GCF. 

Uncovering The Impact of Shoppers’ Kindness & Generosity

New Eyes for the Needy plans to use the funds to provide the transformative tool of new eyeglasses to children and adults facing financial hardship, so that they can build independent and productive lives. Eyeglasses enable children to succeed at school and help adults to find employment, while enabling seniors to live securely through clear vision.

This crucial funding will go directly to providing new prescription eyeglasses to 1,869 children and adults facing financial hardship in the United States, particularly in the states where Target donors participated. Over 11 million people in the U.S. need but can’t afford the simple, yet critical, tool of eyeglasses and this gift will make deep impacts on the lives of people in need, enabling them to succeed in school, find employment and to live more safely, independently and productively. The impacts made are deep and long-lasting and New Eyes is so very grateful to everyone who made this possible.”
